mu be a new version of powerpoint. good afternoon, supervisors. i'm ken rich with the office of economic and work force development, and we're here to give you a status report on our ongoing octavia boulevard program. as we all know, not long ago the central freeway, a double decker freeway structure, extended across market street headed north, ending at turk street. the central [speaker not understood] was badly damaged in the earthquake as we all know ands was replaced. eventually the elevated structure was removed and replaced by octavia boulevard. as part that owe of that process, 22 parcels were transferred to the city which was expected to sell for development using the funds in return for a number of uses. and here you see the requirements of the agreement with caltrans, which included a number of obligations. the the city would undertake in exchange for ownership of these 22 parcels. those were construction of octavia boulevard and the associated creation and implementation of a traffic management plan as well as the rehabilitation of port

let me switch over to our powerpoint. there we go, thank you. today's presentation there's a few things i want to be able to speak to just at a high level reminder of the school districts' vision and goals for all students. but more importantly, share some data with you today and some outcomes for some of the targeted student populations that are the focus of conversation today, discuss and share with you some strategic actions and interventions that are showing promise in some of our schools that can only benefit to expand on and highlight some of those promising partnerships that are occurring. san francisco unified school district's vision for student success, we do expect that every student who enrolls in our schools will graduate from high school, will be ready for college and career and be equipped with the skills to be successful in the 21st century. san francisco unified adopted a bold strategic plan with three goals focused on access and equity, student achievement, and account ability. -- and accountability. and there are six key miles

since i've been there, i didn't do a powerpoint, this is all-new residential. there's a lot of new residential coming in. and i know that there was a hearing on this in june. it kind of went into my radar when i read bought new developments going in blocks away from me. about a month ago they cut all these trees down to build the condos, future units at grove and goff. if you've ever gone by the farm area, it in itself is an urban oasis and i understand economic development, you know, i feel affordable housing is an oxymoron in this town. anything is driven p by that. i think in the short term gain as compared to long-term benefits, you know, it would be nice if that could be a public park. if you go all the way to the bay and come down this way to the corridor, there are numerous big parks. this lot is half that size, but these trees are irreplacable. and i know for instance, i know randal pine, 30 years, he demolished two old buildings to build the jazz fest and cut down trees to plant smaller ones. so, you lose 80 foot trees for eight-foot trees that will ta
